Design Begins with Decisions
Some design decisions feel temporary.
Very few actually are.
Once a space is planned, certain choices become difficult to undo:
– Where technology is anchored
– How systems are zoned
– What is centralised versus distributed
– How much flexibility is designed in — or assumed
These decisions don’t announce themselves as permanent.
They often feel like “we’ll adjust later” choices.
But over time, they define what the space can and cannot become.
Good design isn’t about keeping every option open.
It’s about being deliberate about which options you’re willing to close.
